2006-11-19 [True, plain and simple]: IE7 is a high priority update for Windows, so the public places that have it still have it because the people in charge of those systems are just too lazy to learn how to make it behave the same, I think. ;)
As long as it's a conscious choice by the user to make transparent png's even though it's exclusive, I don't mind, I say let it be in the contest.
That's essentially what I meant, jah. I just don't want to limit people because there are some non-working browsers out there. That doesn't mean that I don't think those people should have a good viewing experience too, but of course they'll accommodate themselves by picking images that look OK to themselves anyway.
2006-11-19 [Just.Kate]: IE7 is going to be a critical update. This means that most public computers, which run VALID copies of Windows, are going to be mass-updated all at the same time. And if it says that the images are transparent, then perhaps you should vote based on the quality of the emotes, not on whatever craptacualr background your browser put in place. It will not be very long at all before the majority of Elftown will be browsed from IE7. And transparent gifs always have those little noise pixels, which DO ruin the image for everyone.
2006-11-19 [Just.Kate]: My brain must be fried, cause I JUST realised that TP&S basically said the same thing... -_- Sorry.
2006-11-20 [Sunrose]: Please also go ahead and upload the moodimages to the moodpage!
Note: You need wikiprivs to be able to upload transparent moods, if you don't have them yet you can request for them.
2006-11-20 [lyubomir]: you mean me or... ?
2006-11-20 [Sunrose]: Everyone who entered.. :)
2006-11-20 [lyubomir]: well my emos arent transperant ..so do i have to do this ?
2006-11-20 [Sunrose]: They have to be uploaded whether they are transparent or not, but for transparent moodimages you need wikiprivs.
2006-11-20 [Just.Kate]: o_o I'm confused. I thought you werent allowed to enter moods that were on the public moods page...
2006-11-20 [Sunrose]: You're supposed to enter new moods yes, that doesn't mean you can't upload them to the moodspage after you submitted them to the contest.
We can check the date that you uploaded them. It might be a good idea though to leave a note here when you upload them to the moodpage.
Otherwise I think people will forget to upload them to the moodpage in the end, the contest would be pretty pointless in that case.
2006-11-20 [Just.Kate]: Alrighty then! Hows you, by the way? -moves the personal convo to pm-
2006-11-21 [xido]: I added one of the dragon scales to my mood, but only because it was there for a reason.
Also, Lubomir, your images are fine as they are. They are filled with color. The images that the others are talking about has to do with transparent portions.
I don't use transparents anymore, after I saw how they are messed up on Elftown, but I do use jpgs, and I always fill my open space with an ET color, like the greens or baby blue, or a gradient from one of those to black or something to make it look real enough. If it's really worth your time, do them in all the ET colors. ;)
I love the animals. I want to see more animals, but I have made more than my fair share for one contest (my second official ET contest after the RPG character event, for that matter). I like the contests here. It really makes you feel good that a website could use your artwork. It gives you a nice feeling to be a part of something like this. I have only done art trades before these two contests, and hosting the Elftown Water Fountain Design Contest (and I still need to finish the badges for those winners... :S...)

2006-11-21 [xido]: I wondered that.... hmmm.... :/
2006-11-21 [Janouk]: She has already been notified.
2006-11-21 [Ocean Soul]: Good, I never said anything then ;)
2006-11-21 [Sunrose]: [xido]: The problem with your suggestion to use ET's colour as background, is that some people use a different stylesheet and thus have a different colour.
This is the reason people started to create transparent moodicons, so that those people will be able to use them as well.
2006-11-21 [Sunrose]: [Just.Kate]: your moods on the moodpage seem to have a white background, because they were uploaded as jpg's :/
I have put them on hold, maybe you can fix this?
2006-11-21 [Elegy - gone]: Oh, I forgot to mention that I uploaded mine to the mood page! So yeah, consider this the mentioning >.>
2006-11-21 [Sunrose]: I noticed hehe :P
2006-11-21 [Elegy - gone]: Bah, of course =P I swear, you've got eyes everywhere... >.<
2006-11-21 [Sunrose]: x)
